Gloomy

We're about to go to bed. This is taken before the last light is turned off. I like the white against the red against the black. Daniel hobby-decorator, signing off!

Pepper

Our pepper and salt mill on top of our kitchen hood. I love them, for the first time I have really good mills. There are plenty of useless mills out there, but these two are fantastic. The brand is Weber. Daniel hobby-chef, over and out!

Picked up Linus from kindergarten and then we ran out to the sloap. Linus really enjoyed it. Sweet smile huh?

Dino

Erika is sitting in the living-room sofa reading 365-blogs and commenting. I captured the dinosaur stalking her.

Soup

I'm making shrimp&lobster broth. Later tonight we will make soup and eat the lobster meat. We also have scallops and mussels. This will be our engagement dinner here at home. I love cooking so I decided that we need a properly prepared dinner to celebrate, even though it's been a week since the engagement in Mexico.

Linus has been sick so I haven't really had time with the project, but today I made 3 posts, make sure you don't miss the other 2.

Climb

Linus felt much better today, so he could join us on a walk with Ebba.

Sick

Linus got Norovirus today. I had to pick him up at the daycare. Poor thing, vomiting all the time. We just watched movies and played games all day. He never complained or cried, what a brave boy.

Whisky

This is the visible part of our bar. I collect Single Malt whiskys, that's why there are so many of those bottles. And the bottles are usually very nice looking as well. Unfortunately it's a quite expensive hobby so I don't get to buy them so often, maybe it's a good thing since the bar is quite small. Both Erika and I really like whisky and on almost every Fridays after work we pour one whisky each, straight up, no ice. Then we sit down for a while and taste it. A really nice whisky like the ones I collect should be drunken in small amounts, otherwise you loose the special taste.

PS. I spell whisky like this without the ey because that's how it's spelled in its home land, Scotland.

Lizard

One out of three lizards that we bought in one of the small mountain villages in Mexico. This one mysteriously disappeared when we got home. Today it was found.....in the laundry, before getting washed :)

Linus

Back home again. Finally got to hug my little boy. Took this shot as we were getting dressed to go outside with our beloved Ebba (the Boxer).

Reflection

Really short on photos....this is a reflection of light in the windows of Frankfurt airport.

Waiting

I'm reading while waiting for our flight. Not a very interesting photo....

La Luna

Today we snorkeled with turtles and then changed hotel to a all-inclusive further north from Playa del Carmen. After a "japanese" dinner we went down to the beach. The moon shined really strong and this is my picture of the day.

Beach

This is me by the beach, we took a bath after having lunch in a place right at the beach. First time we took a bath in the ocean without our diving equipment.

Shower

Sorry guys, no dive pictures. Our dives was too deep for our camera. This is how our shower at the hotel looks like after diving in the ocean :P

Cenotes

Our first dive on this trip was in a big cavern called Dos Ojos. This is a huge system of cavern and caves. We did two dives, first one was a trail of 400 meters in under the rocks. Most of the time we didn't see any daylight and we had nothing but rock above us. We had flash-lights so that we could see. The water was crystal clear, at least 100 m. There were lots and lots of stalactites and stalagmites, here and there a fossil. This goes on my top 3 coolest things I've done. Fantastic!!!

Bruno

We took a plane from Mexico City to Cancun, then we went by bus to Playa del Carmen. First we checked into the hotel, then we went to the diveshop and talked to them about the following days of diving. We went looking for a restaurant when we saw this place and I thought that it would be a nice picture.

Tlayacapan

First thing we did this day was to go to a relative to the people we lived with. It was a birthday party and we got good food along with some not so good food. After lunch we went to another small village in the mountains called Tlayacapan. We walked around and drank beer with lime and salt. Very nice! In the evening we went to another house with relatives and had a barbecue party.

Pool

Today we started at the pool at the house of our friends. We ate breakfast and then before lunch had e few Coronas. All together an excellent morning. After lunch we went for a trip to a small town in the mountains called Tepoztlán. It was a sleepy little town with high mountains all around. On top of one of the mountains there was a small pyramid, you could walk up to it but it takes about two hours and it was way to hot. Maybe next time.

Popocatepetl

Today we were in Puebla and looked at a the nice town centre, then we drove to Cuautla. On the way there we stopped to take some pictures of the amazing volcano Popocatepetl. It's almost 5500 meters and still active as you can see.

PS. Misola, my name is Daniel.....not Peter ;)

Del Sol

Today we went to Teotihuacán to see the big pyramids. The biggest one, called Pirámide del Sol (Pyramid of the sun), is absolutely huge. It has the same base length as Cheops in Egypt. We walked all the way to the top, it was quite exhausting.

Frankfurt

On our way to Mexico we had to go by Frankfurt. This is from the tunnel between the terminals. Tomorrow I hope I will be able to put some pictures from my old house. I used to live in Mexico when I was a kid. We moved there when I was 5 and moved back home when I was 7. Tomorrow I will visit my old house to see if I remember everything correctly. It's going to be really fun and a bit emotional.

Packing

Tomorrow morning at 05.05 we leave cold Sweden for warm Mexico! A well planned adventure starts. We will be visiting "relatives", diving with sharks and in caves, drinking drinks at the beach and visiting my old house where I used to live as a small boy. Here is some of the stuff being packed!

Sunset

How about this sunset? The photo is taken from our back garden. Tomorrow is the last day at home, then the big adventure begins!

Cold

Today we bought a new lens! It's a Canon EFS 55-250 F4-5,6. Not a very expensive lens but it'll do. So for today the picture is a portrait of my lovely girl. We went for a walk with Ebba and brought the camera, it's chilly outside as you might imagine by looking at the picture. On Wednesday something very special will begin. Make sure you don't miss the 2 weeks that will follow, it'll be worth it, I promise!
