Minigolf

Yet another camping-site, this time in Hudiksvall. After dinner we played some minigolf. The courses was leading in every direction, very hard to play.

Not much happened today, except for the Högakustenbron, that you can see at Erika's blog.

Activator

We continued our journey south and checked in at a camping-site close to the sea. One of the activities for children at the site was this trampoline, and Linus of course had to try. I could have tried myself too, but I passed this time.

Ship-wreck

Today we arrived at Byske camping. It's located at the beach of the Baltic sea, with a big playground right on the beach. As it didn't rain during the evening, Linus got to play some in the "ship" and on the big trampoline.

Lapp-porten

Gate of Lappland! We're back in Sweden. Did another 450 kilometres today. We checked in at a nice camping place in Jokkmokk. Really nice!

1800km

Today we realized that we have been driving more than 1800 kilometres. This is just one of the fantastic sceneries we have seen. This is the farthest north I have ever been, the sun never sets. We have been through tunnels that are more than 8.5 kilometres long and up on mountain-tops. Tomorrow we turn south again, back into Sweden. We will try and go as long as we can every day to get back south. Maybe we will meet up with some friends halfway down.

Cod

Today we only did about 200 km, then we stopped at this narrow place in the fjord. The tide made quite a show. After dinner we went back down to the fjord with our fishing equipment. I caught a cod early on and only 2 minutes later Linus caught his first fish ever, also a cod. He was very excited. I'm so proud!

The road to this place is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. High mountains all around, narrow roads high above the fjords. Long tunnels, one of them 8,6 kilometres!!! OMG

11pm

This picture is taken after 11pm, as you can see the sun is still shining on the mountains. It never gets dark here, it's almost daylight all night. We travelled by the coastline today, still to the north. Tomorrow we will have a look at the tide coming in and out of the fjord. The fjord is really narrow where we will be standing, the water is pushed through this narrow place creating huge water malstroms.

Norway, day 1

Today we went over the border into Norway. We found this amazing place to stop and have lunch. The stream was flowing at the bottom of this canyon and we followed it for quite some time. The scenery was fantastic. Before this we went over the mountains and we even saw some snow and ice. We did a good 420 kilometres today. Tomorrow we aim for 500 kilometres, but we'll see.

Hede

Today we drove 400 kilometres to a small town called Hede. It's not very far from the Norwegian border. Maybe we will drive into Norway tomorrow.

The wagon

Here we are at the first stop on our vacation; at my IL's. Perfect first pit-stop.

Laundry

Today we finalized the preparations for our trip. Here is the last laundry drying in the living-room.

Giant fridge

We took some small small bottles to put raspberry vinegar (Red Label) and liquid smoke (smaller bottle) to bring on our vacation trip to Norway.

Walkway

Zelda is walking down the walkway between the apartment buildings at home. We were going for a walk with Ebba and Zelda decided to join. Looks kinda funny when Ebba and Zelda walks beside each other without leashes. It's 10pm.....

Cherry

These cherries grow in the wild just 100 meters from our apartment. Really nice.

Limited

I bought a bottle of a limited edition whisky from Bowmore. This bottle is number 1477 out of 4500. It's only sold in Sweden.

Aunt

My aunt was visiting my parents, and we took the opportunity to meet her and her husband there. On the picture Linus is showing her frog-babies that are swimming around in the pond.

Cook-teacher

A friend of mine came over to learn to cook some Thai-food. It all went very well and he was very pleased when he realized he can do it by himself.

Fishing

I thought my fishing gear was stolen so I had to buy new. This is the new reel i bought. Turns out my old fishing gear had really just fallen off its shelf and was found a few days later.....

Visitor

Today we met up with some friends that have moved to California, USA. They were home for a few weeks. We had a few beers and catched up. The man in the picture is one of the friends visiting from USA, the woman is a friend who lives here still.

Twoeyes

This is how happy she was to get her eye back. It's not quite well yet but it's looking better.
We have a big trip coming up in a short while. We will show you all about it soon.

Oneye

Tomorrow we are going to remove the stitches from Ebbas eye so she can open it again. She was behaving good and not scratching so she could be without the funnel for a while tonight. Lets hope her eye is better now!

Climbing

This morning we went to a mountain nearby. We walked through the forest on a narrow path that was really steep sometimes. Eventually we came to the top and there was an old tower from the second world war. It was rebuilt as a lookout tower so we climbed it and it really was a magnificent view.

Hembygdsgården

We went to a place where they have kept really old buildings. They have small museums and shops here. We walked around in the beautiful surroundings and then we had ice cream and cake.

Fagersta

We went to my in laws this weekend. Linus was very excited to see them and we had a really good time.

Flipflop

In Sweden we call them fipflops.

Tomato

My tomato plant. Hopefully, if the weather is warm enough I will be able to eat my own tomatoes soon. If I'm unlucky, they will become giant tomatoes and try to kill us all...
